Technology and SDG 2 – No Hunger
Introduction and definition of SDG 2:
Zero Hunger (previously known as No Hunger) aims to end hunger, achieve food security improve nutrition and promote sustainable agriculture.
In 2019 it is estimated that 8.9% of the global population were hungry, which was actually an increase on the five years before.
COVID-19 hasn't helped, pushing a further 83-132 million people into chronic hunger.
Before COVID, 26.4% of the world's population suffered from hunger due to food insecurity.
Hunger hits children hard - 21.3% or 144 million children and 5 are stunted due to hunger.
