Introduction and definition of SDG 12:
SDG 12 address sustainable production and consumption, looking across supply chains and what happens to products during and after consumption.
SDG 12 aligns with the concept of Circular Economies, as well as food security, food waste and the sustainable use of natural resources.
From an industrial point of view, SDG 12 provides targets for industrial environmental impact, such as use and abuse of air, water and soil.
Our global material footprint has risen unsustainably over the past years, from 73.2 billion tons in 2010 to 85.9 billion tons in 2017.
