They’re taking a novel commercial approach to this, inspired by one of their founder’s experience at Revolut. They provide and install the camera equipment in the plants for free, and provide access to the data an insights on a SaaS basis (ok, SaaS isn’t that novel, but it is in this application)
The point of this is to help waste processing operators make better decisions about the waste that traverses their systems, sorting it more effectively and providing higher quality outputs down-stream. Their technology is already deployed in eight facilities across the UK and they plan to use this funding to reach 30-40 across Europe and the US within the next 12 months.
